Firefighters in Dubai have contained a blaze which broke out at an an under-construction building in the emirate on Sunday afternoon.
Dubai Civil Defence were alerted to the fire at a 27-floor building in the Jumeirah Village Circle district shortly before 2.30pm.
Crews from Al Barsha were sent to the scene and brought the fire under control by 3.03pm, with cooling procedures under way.
The construction site was evacuated as a safety measure while the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported.
“Firefighters from Al Barsha station went to the scene and reached within six minutes of receiving the call," a Dubai Civil Defence spokesman said.
Further investigations are to be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
Residents from across the city, including in Sports City and The Greens, had taken to social media after the fire erupted to report smoke rising into the sky.
