Travellers flying from Dubai with Emirates can check out the brand-new Plaza Premium Lounge which has opened in Terminal 3.

Spread across 1,260 metres, the pay-to-use lounge is the biggest at Dubai International Airport – the world's busiest hub.

You'll find the lounge on the upper level of Terminal 3's Concourse A. The desert and ocean inspired area can accommodate up to 300 travellers at any one time.

VIP lounging

The Plaza Premium Lounge Dubai is the only space in Terminal 3 to offer individual family suites. These four 10-square-metre rooms can be booked by groups of travellers seeking preflight privacy. Each suite comes with multilingual butler service with staff members speaking Arabic, Russian, Hindi, Tagalog and Turkish. Arabic coffee, dates and welcome drinks will be served to travellers checking .

Keeping children entertained between flights is always a challenge but the dedicated children's playroom in the lounge should help with this. It's painted in bright colours with a mural of camels, palm trees and Dubai's towering skyscrapers and stocked with sustainably-made wooden toys. Lounge chefs will also create special menus for children and infants.

For travellers looking to sleep between flights, single-person relaxation seats inspired by first class in-flight cabins can be converted into napping pods. There's also five shower rooms, business workstations, a cigar lounge and male and female prayer rooms.

When it comes to eating, there's a host of Arabic, Asian and International flavours on offer. Chefs will be on hand to prepare dishes at live cooking stations throughout the day. To help reduce the culinary carbon footprint of the lounge, there's a strong focus on using local ingredients. Gluten-free options and made-to-order dishes can also be requested for travellers with dietary requirements.

Pay per visit

The lounge is open to everyone. Travellers with select travel passes and credit cards can access the lounge via their membership but anyone can pay to access the lounge. Pre-bookings can be made online or walk-in rates are available with prices starting from $53 (Dh195) for three hours per person.
