Register to take part in the 10th edition of the Great Dubai Pulse Ride. The community off-road event has routes for all abilities with 5km, 10km and 20km challenges and is open to families, novices and experienced riders. See the exhibition Inventing Downtown: Artist-Run Galleries in New York City, 1952-1965, which examines the New York art scene, from the abstract expressionism in the 1950s to the pop-art and minimalism of the 1960s. The establishment of artist-run galleries saw artists expanding downtown Manhattan towards the industrial areas, thus acquiring spaces that shaped the creation and exhibition of their art. Danu Theatre's performances of The Al Hamlet Summit begin tomorrow. The ruthless new ruler of a fictional contemporary Middle Eastern country is the former king's brother. He has married his brother's widow and is creating a more westernised state in Kuwaiti playwright Sulayman Al Bassam's take on Shakespeare's Hamlet. The play is performed in English and features a multinational cast.

Visit the exhibition While We Wait, a meditative and immersive installation commissioned by the Victoria and Albert Museum. Designed by Palestinian architects and designers Elias and Yousef Anastas, the artwork is comprised of pieces of stone from various regions in Palestine that fit together to form a lattice-like structure that lets viewers see their surroundings from inside while listening to sound and video components. The artists will present a talk on November 16 at 6.30pm.
