The Coffee Club has just added a unique Emirati dish to its menu to celebrate Ramadan. The Australian coffee shop chain has teamed up with chef Shaikha Al Ali to create the balaleet brioche delight — a twist on the traditional vermicelli and egg dish.

The new menu item is a cinnamon, honey and butter-rubbed brioche packed with sugared cheese and topped with cinnamon balaleet and walnuts. It’s then coated with salted caramel and raspberries.

Ali, chef and founder of www.whenshaikhacooks.com, says: "Growing up, some of my fondest food memories are breaking the day-long fast with my family around the table. And one of our firm favourites was balaleet. When The Coffee Club approached me to create an iftar dish, it was only fitting that the dish revolved around balaleet. We hope that Emiratis and expats alike will enjoy the balaleet brioche delight."

• The balaleet brioche delight is Dh45. The Coffee Club has outlets in Yas Mall and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi; Wasl Vita Mall, Golden Mile Mall and Dubai Airport Freezone Authority in Dubai. Visit www.facebook.com/thecoffeeclubme
