• Abu Dhabi residents are finally getting the eatery everyone in Dubai has grown to love: the UAE-grown restaurant chain More Café has opened its first outlet in Marina Mall. With a comprehensive and varied menu and the freshest ingredients, More roasts its own coffee beans, bakes its own breads and pastries and produces all the pastas, jams, dressings, chutneys and ice creams on the menu, ensuring the best quality from source to plate.
• In another first for the capital, and in keeping with the half-half brunch trend, the new Southern Sun hotel's eatery The Foundry is launching its Steak & Jazz brunch on Friday September 12. Over the soothing sounds of a live band, guests can have their steaks cooked to perfection and choose from a wide array of desserts and starters. An oyster bar and thermidor station offer the buffet portion of the experience. Brunch is held from 12.30-4pm and ranges in price from Dh275-475.
• Healthy eaters in the capital will be heartened to hear that the popular Organic Foods & Cafe is due to open another Abu Dhabi branch at Nation Towers Galleria, although there is no word yet on a date. The store will join the first Abu Dhabi location in Masdar City.
• It appears visitors to the well-above-par food court at The Galleria, Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi are getting another healthy option to choose from, even if details are scant. A peek behind a curtained-off kiosk reveals what appears to be an outlet called Green Shooters, nearby to Biryani Pot, Taqado Mexican Kitchen and the rest of the offerings.
