Dubai’s entrant to the World Barista Champion competition

The World Barista Championship is happening right now in Rimini, Italy. Baristas from more than 50 nations have won their way to compete for the title of World Barista Champion. Kushal Kumar Balami, a barista from Dubai's Raw Coffee Company, is the sole competitor in the championship from the Middle East. Balami, who's from Nepal, has been a barista at Raw for six years. The Raw Coffee Company roasts 16 different origins, with Balami roasting up to 450kg a day himself.
At the championship, the baristas will make four espressos, four cappuccinos and four original signature drinks, all in a 15-minute performance. Judges from around the world will choose the winner based on taste, cleanliness, creativity, technical skill and overall presentation.
The winner will be announced June 12. Find out who it is here.
