Robot is a new restaurant in Bangalore that serves Indian and Chinese food, which is far from unusual in the capital of Karnataka. What is more unique, however, is the fact your biryani will be brought to you by a blue and white robot waiter with a set of lit-up red eyes.
The restaurant, which officially opened on Saturday, August 17, has one robot greeter and five robot waiters, but does still employ human waiters to keep the robots on track, and presumably to deal with customer complaints and the like.
Robot is in Kodihalli in the east of Bangalore, and guests are greeted by a robot, and then place their orders on a tablet, which sits on each table.
You can have a robotic experience in the UAE, too.
A RoboCafe has just opened in Dubai Festival City, where a team of robot arms prepare drinks, like tea and coffee, for customers. RoboCafe is not the first eatery in Dubai to thrill customers with high-tech waiters. The Dubai Mall's Tanuki, an Asian restaurant, has a state-of-the-art robot to greet guests upon arrival.
There is also, Ruby the robotic waitress, who started serving customers at Bur Dubai restaurant, Drink and Spice Magics, last summer.
