It's been a long, slow summer, with awards season taking a serious break – but Monday saw stars of the screen and soundwaves congregate in New Jersey for the MTV Video Music Awards.
The annual ceremony celebrates the best of the year's music videos as well as some of the hottest music acts.
Among the famous faces who turned out for the 2019 edition were Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, as well as Taylor Swift, who took home the prize for Video of the Year with You Need to Calm Down.
Models Bella and Gigi Hadid also stepped out for the occasion, along with singer HER, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes and Missy Elliott, who won the Video Vanguard award in honour of her decades-long career.
