The day two curtain fell on Emirati designer Zareena Yousif eponymous runway show at Fashion Forward in Dubai Design District.

The best of the day had been kept for last with the Dubai-based designer sending one of her finest collections down the ramp.

The smell of oud hung in the air and a blue-lit winter woodland theme was the backdrop for Zareena’s ethereal gowns in shades of greige, ivory and duck egg blue.

Silhouettes flitted from classic, floor-sweeping evening gowns, some with aysmetric shoulders and others strapless with conical bodices.

Zareena’s detailing — in the form of exquisite latticed embroidery in reflective beads and sequins — stole the show. It accented elegantly understated column dresses and dip-hemmed tunics with billowing capes and flowing silk-chiffon epaulettes.

The designer proudly strode the catwalk, after the last model had made her final turn, and posed for the cameras with her two daughters who were sitting front row.
