El Athletic de Bilbao es el único equipo de la liga que no ha comprado ningún jugador durante el verano. No tiene las mismas opciones de elección que el resto de equipos ya que solamente ficha a jugadores vascos y, que yo sepa, soy uno de los pocos que tengo el derecho de jugar en este gran club. Mi abuela era de San Sebastián y emigró a Buenos Aires a los 15 años. Luego atravesó el Río de la Plata para instalarse en Uruguay. El Athletic no ganará la liga esta temporada pero estará en los puestos europeos, lo cual es impresionante considerando su limitada fuente de talentos.
El título se quedará en manos de uno de los tres mejores equipos de la temporada pasada, aunque el Madrid solo ha ganado una Liga en los últimos ocho años. Es el campeón de Europa y no ha hecho fichajes estrella pero siempre es mejor tener un equipo estable y que funcione que hacer demasiados cambios. ¿Qué posiciones necesita reforzar el Madrid si ya es un equipo fuerte? El Madrid juega el segundo mejor fútbol de España y probablemente del mundo. Intenta dominar los partidos, ataca, es creativo. Lo hace en todos los encuentros, excepto cuando juega contra el Barcelona porque sabe que el Barcelona lo castigaría por ser demasiado ofensivo.
El Barça sigue jugando el mejor fútbol del mundo, sigue siendo el favorito para ganar la Liga y la Champions League. Con Lionel Messi, Neymar y mi amigo Luis Suárez, tiene la mejor delantera del mundo. ¿Quién los va a parar cuando empiece la Liga? Esta semana metieron cinco goles al Sevilla, uno de los equipos más fuertes de Europa en esta última década.
Mi antiguo club el Atlético de Madrid podría parar al Barça. No puede jugar como los catalanes así que se concentra en sus puntos fuertes. Defiende bien, contraataca, marca a balón parado y prácticamente todas las oportunidades que crear acaban en gol. Al Atlético le basta ganar 1-0.
No puede comprar a los mejores jugadores en su mejor momento y por lo tanto tiene que actuar con más astucia en el mercado de traspasos, como adquirir a los mejores sudamericanos emergentes. Ficharon a Sergio Agüero cuando todavía era un adolescente porque a los 25 hubiera sido demasiado caro. Ficharon a Diego Costa cuando apenas le conocía nadie. O a José María Giménez. Quizás Kranevitter y Ángel Correa también se conviertan en estrellas. Hay muchas buenas razones para que un futbolista sudamericano juegue en el Atlético. Diego Simeone es muy respetado y además los sudamericanos conocen su estilo de fútbol. Madrid es una ciudad culturalmente muy cercana a Sudamérica y no existen problemas lingüísticos. Cuando yo jugaba en Madrid había grupos enteros de futbolistas sudamericanos.
Espero que el Atlético vuelva a estar entre los mejores de España y Europa; sin embargo, a pesar de que no creo que ningún otro equipo español logre posicionarse entre los tres mejores, en España sigue habiendo equipos excelentes.
El Sevilla, que ha tenido una década increíble, tiene un nuevo entrenador, el chileno Jorge Sampaoli. Es nuevo en Europa y espero que los aficionados tengan paciencia con él. Hizo un gran trabajo con Chile, como sustituto del popular Marcelo Bielsa llevando a la selección a su primera victoria en la Copa América. Tiene que incorporar a nuevos jugadores y conseguir que su equipo juegue según su sistema. A los equipos de Sampaoli les gusta jugar la pelota desde atrás, pero a veces con demasiado riesgo. Lo noté cuando jugó contra el Real Madrid en la Supercopa de Europa la semana pasada.
El Sevilla fichó a Nicolás Gaitán, el centrocampista argentino procedente del Benfica. Es rápido y marca goles. Perdió a Kevin Gameiro, que se ha ido al Atlético, y echará de menos sus goles. Ojalá los marque su sustituto, otro argentino, Luciano Vietto. Fue un jugador excelente en el Villarreal, pero no consiguió suficientes oportunidades o goles en el Atlético de Madrid la temporada pasada.
El director deportivo del Sevilla Monchi es un reclutador astuto. También encuentra jugadores en Sudamérica, Daniel Alves fue uno de los primeros. Ha fichado a Ganso, el brasileño que comenzó en el Santos con Neymar. Sobre él se decía que estaba al mismo nivel que Neymar, pero a pesar de que lo hizo bien en Sao Paulo, no tuvo el éxito espectacular de Neymar. Ganso tiene buena técnica y habilidad pero, al igual que mi antiguo compañero de equipo Juan Román Riquelme, no corre demasiado.
El Villarreal terminó cuarto la temporada pasada pero acaba de perder a su entrenador Marcelino justo dos semanas antes de que empiece la nueva temporada. Me ha sorprendido, sobre todo porque tenían que jugar una eliminatoria para la Champions. Ha perdido a Eric Bailly, que se ha ido al Manchester United, y el delantero Roberto Soldado será baja después de una lesión en el ligamento, pero conozco a su nuevo entrenador Fran Escribá. Fue asistente de Quique Sánchez Flores cuando estaba en el Atlético de Madrid. Es un buen tipo con buen juicio y tendrá a Pato, el brasileño que se ha incorporado a mi antiguo club. Espero que el fichaje para el Villarreal pueda hacer por él lo que hizo por mí o Giuseppe Rossi o Riquelme. Pato tiene talento pero ha sufrido graves lesiones. Solo tiene que jugar con regularidad y jugar bien, pero el Villarreal es un buen lugar para concentrarse en el fútbol, un pequeño club con grandes ideas lejos de las distracciones de las grandes ciudades.

Tips on buying property during a pandemic
Islay Robinson, group chief executive of mortgage broker Enness Global, offers his advice on buying property in today's market.
While many have been quick to call a market collapse, this simply isn’t what we’re seeing on the ground. Many pockets of the global property market, including London and the UAE, continue to be compelling locations to invest in real estate.
While an air of uncertainty remains, the outlook is far better than anyone could have predicted. However, it is still important to consider the wider threat posed by Covid-19 when buying bricks and mortar.
Anything with outside space, gardens and private entrances is a must and these property features will see your investment keep its value should the pandemic drag on. In contrast, flats and particularly high-rise developments are falling in popularity and investors should avoid them at all costs.
Attractive investment property can be hard to find amid strong demand and heightened buyer activity. When you do find one, be prepared to move hard and fast to secure it. If you have your finances in order, this shouldn’t be an issue.
Lenders continue to lend and rates remain at an all-time low, so utilise this. There is no point in tying up cash when you can keep this liquidity to maximise other opportunities.
Keep your head and, as always when investing, take the long-term view. External factors such as coronavirus or Brexit will present challenges in the short-term, but the long-term outlook remains strong.
Finally, keep an eye on your currency. Whenever currency fluctuations favour foreign buyers, you can bet that demand will increase, as they act to secure what is essentially a discounted property.
How to avoid crypto fraud
- Use unique usernames and passwords while enabling multi-factor authentication.
- Use an offline private key, a physical device that requires manual activation, whenever you access your wallet.
- Avoid suspicious social media ads promoting fraudulent schemes.
- Only invest in crypto projects that you fully understand.
- Critically assess whether a project’s promises or returns seem too good to be true.
- Only use reputable platforms that have a track record of strong regulatory compliance.
- Store funds in hardware wallets as opposed to online exchanges.

His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.

Important questions to consider
1. Where on the plane does my pet travel?
There are different types of travel available for pets:
- Manifest cargo
- Excess luggage in the hold
- Excess luggage in the cabin
Each option is safe. The feasibility of each option is based on the size and breed of your pet, the airline they are traveling on and country they are travelling to.
2. What is the difference between my pet traveling as manifest cargo or as excess luggage?
If traveling as manifest cargo, your pet is traveling in the front hold of the plane and can travel with or without you being on the same plane. The cost of your pets travel is based on volumetric weight, in other words, the size of their travel crate.
If traveling as excess luggage, your pet will be in the rear hold of the plane and must be traveling under the ticket of a human passenger. The cost of your pets travel is based on the actual (combined) weight of your pet in their crate.
3. What happens when my pet arrives in the country they are traveling to?
As soon as the flight arrives, your pet will be taken from the plane straight to the airport terminal.
If your pet is traveling as excess luggage, they will taken to the oversized luggage area in the arrival hall. Once you clear passport control, you will be able to collect them at the same time as your normal luggage. As you exit the airport via the ‘something to declare’ customs channel you will be asked to present your pets travel paperwork to the customs official and / or the vet on duty.
If your pet is traveling as manifest cargo, they will be taken to the Animal Reception Centre. There, their documentation will be reviewed by the staff of the ARC to ensure all is in order. At the same time, relevant customs formalities will be completed by staff based at the arriving airport.
4. How long does the travel paperwork and other travel preparations take?
This depends entirely on the location that your pet is traveling to. Your pet relocation compnay will provide you with an accurate timeline of how long the relevant preparations will take and at what point in the process the various steps must be taken.
In some cases they can get your pet ‘travel ready’ in a few days. In others it can be up to six months or more.
5. What vaccinations does my pet need to travel?
Regardless of where your pet is traveling, they will need certain vaccinations. The exact vaccinations they need are entirely dependent on the location they are traveling to. The one vaccination that is mandatory for every country your pet may travel to is a rabies vaccination.
Other vaccinations may also be necessary. These will be advised to you as relevant. In every situation, it is essential to keep your vaccinations current and to not miss a due date, even by one day. To do so could severely hinder your pets travel plans.
