Waldorf-Astoria to open in Ras Al Khaimah



One of New York's most historic hotel names, the luxury Waldorf-Astoria, is coming to Ras Al Khaimah.

A Waldorf-Astoria hotel, Hilton's top brand, is scheduled to open in the emirate in fourth quarter of this year. The New York hotel in Manhattan has hosted famous residents including US President Herbert Hoover and Marilyn Monroe.

Hilton already manages two hotels in Ras Al Khaimah. A property under the operator’s Doubletree is also under development in the emirate.

The Arabian-themed “palatial” Waldorf Astoria hotel will have 349 rooms, several outdoor swimming pools, and ten restaurants and bars, including four fine-dining restaurants.

Hilton has a hotel Waldorf Astoria hotel, the Qasr Al Sharq, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which opened in 2005.

The hotel, which is being developed by the Al Hamra Group, is to be part of a mixed-use development which includes an 18-hole championship golf course, a 600-metre private beach and a convention centre.

There are more than twenty hotels under the Waldorf Astoria brand worldwide. There are further Waldorf Astoria hotels under development in locations including Jerusalem, Beijing, and Beverly Hills.
