The 5 have signed up with Sony Music Middle East with a new single and video to be released in September. The much adored Arab boy-band and X Factor finalists have inked up a deal with the major record label in addition to hooking up with the MBC owned Platinum Records who will take care of their management.

The news come after the inaugural winner of the talent show, Saudi Arabian R&B singer Hamza Hawsawi also signed up with Sony Music Middle East recently.

Sony Music Middle East general manager Mike Fairburn says The 5 are part of the label “exciting plans” in the future. “At Sony Music we are passionate about breaking young artists and believe in The X Factor as an unrivalled platform for talent,” he said.

“We already have some exciting plans in the pipeline for The 5 and are looking forward to working with our partners Platinum Records”.

The sentiments were echoed by Platinum Records head Taymoor Marmarchi: “We are ecstatic to partner with Sony Music Entertainment for The 5 management. The group is truly unique for this region and their fan base is skyrocketing. We look forward to tremendous success.”
