Netflix has introduced a new Top 10 feature, which allows viewers to see the most popular films and series in their country that day. It means you can now browse for something to watch based on what your fellow UAE residents are watching.

Viewers on the app will notice that about half way down the home screen is a new 'Top 10 TV Programmes Today' list, with bold numbering to indicate the popularity of the series or film. The list will be updated daily. A list of the most popular films is also available when you click into the films tab.

As the rest of the streaming service's homepage offerings are curated based on the user's viewing history, this could be a great way to diversify viewing habits and watch something that wouldn't necessarily have been suggested before.

If you're not watching via the Netflix app, anything that is listed in the top 10 will be identifiable with a 'Top 10' marker in the corner.

On desktop, the Top 10 list isn't shown but titles that make the list are indicated with a red logo.

As of today, the UAE's favourite TV shows are Crash Landing on You, the South Korean television series about a South Korean woman who accidentally crash-lands in North Korea, starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin. Its popularity checks out, after 2019's Sky Castle, it is the highest rating cable drama in Korean history.

In second place is I Am Not Okay with This, the teen drama that has been billed as the next Stranger Things; and reality dating show Love is Blind, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, takes the third spot. But that could, of course, have changed by tomorrow.

Film-wise, The Last Thing He Wanted, The Body and Rough Night make up the top three.

Netflix original movie The Last Thing He Wanted, starring Anne Hathaway and Ben Affleck, is a political thriller, which was released on January 27. Bollywood thriller The Body (2019) takes second place and 2017's dark comedy Rough Night, starring Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Kravitz is the third most popular film today.
