DUBAI // Get out those pastel shirts because eighties pop-icons Duran Duran are coming to Dubai next year.
Armed with an arsenal of pop classics, in addition to new tunes from well received 13th album All You Need is Now, singer Simon Le Bon and company will perform at the Sevens Stadium on March 8.

The group’s Dubai show marks a continuation of a world tour which stalled after Le Bon injured his vocals chords in May during a performance in Cannes.
The surgery and subsequent rehabilitation forced the band to abandon the remaining shows.
The Wild Boys stars plan to make ammends with an ambitious touring programme next year, with scheduled shows in Europe, Asia and Australia announced so far.
Tickets will go on sale from January 8 at 9am with the public able to register for pre-sale details at durandurandubai.com.

Classification of skills
A worker is categorised as skilled by the MOHRE based on nine levels given in the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO) issued by the International Labour Organisation.

The more serious side of specialty coffee
While the taste of beans and freshness of roast is paramount to the specialty coffee scene, so is sustainability and workers’ rights.
The bulk of genuine specialty coffee companies aim to improve on these elements in every stage of production via direct relationships with farmers. For instance, Mokha 1450 on Al Wasl Road strives to work predominantly with women-owned and -operated coffee organisations, including female farmers in the Sabree mountains of Yemen.
Because, as the boutique’s owner, Garfield Kerr, points out: “women represent over 90 per cent of the coffee value chain, but are woefully underrepresented in less than 10 per cent of ownership and management throughout the global coffee industry.”
One of the UAE’s largest suppliers of green (meaning not-yet-roasted) beans, Raw Coffee, is a founding member of the Partnership of Gender Equity, which aims to empower female coffee farmers and harvesters.
