The Annual Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival has announced submission dates for this year’s competition.

Entries will be taken from August 20 and close on October 20, 2017 in four categories, film, photography, visual arts, and student work. New this year, there is a recycled art sub-category within Visual Arts, where participants are required to use recyclable materials from Ras Al Khaimah, or focus on the story of recycling in order to enter.

The festival has partnered with the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Waste Management Agency which means participants are able to source recyclable materials for their submissions directly from the agency.

Individuals, students, and school teams can make submissions for the Recycled Art category with the two winners being awarded Dh2,500.

“The Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival is a platform for Emirati artists to share artwork with other art lovers and art experts. It also provides people living in the Northern Emirates a way to stay connected with the region’s growing art scene and serves as a stepping-stone for reaching broader international audiences,” says Festival Director,  Suqrat bin Bisher.
