Abu Dhabi Police impounds 2,500 vehicles caught speeding over 200kph so far this year

More than 2,500 vehicles caught travelling at speeds exceeding 200kph on Abu Dhabi roads during the first eight months of 2013 have been impounded.

Brigadier General Hussein Al Harthi, director of traffic and patrols, warned motorists against excessive speeding and racing on public roads and said that ground and air patrols would be on the lookout for violators. He said the total number of vehicles impounded for “excessive speeding” was 2,534.
