ANKARA // Toxic smoke in the engine room of the cruise ship featured in The Love Boat television series has killed two workers near the Turkish city of Izmir where it is being torn apart for scrap, newspapers reported Monday.

The accident occurred on Friday at the Aliaga ship-breaking yard on Turkey's Aegean coast, where the MS Pacific limped into port three days earlier, the Milliyet daily said.

The 42-year-old, 554-foot cruiseliner suffered damage during a storm-wracked journey from Genoa and needed tugboats to list to its final destination, the paper said.
