A Swedish citizen has been extradited to the UK for the murder of a record label executive who was shot dead on Christmas Eve.

Flamur Beqiri, 36, was walking home in the London district of Battersea with his wife and young child when he was killed.

Anis Fouad Hemissi, 22, who is originally from Sweden, has been extradited from Denmark and charged with the murder.

Mr Hemissi was arrested at Copenhagen Airport on January 20 under a European arrest warrant.

In addition to the murder charge he has also been charged with possession of a firearm.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Beqiri, a Swedish citizen, was shot multiple times by an attacker who escaped on foot.

He had been living in London for five years.

A year earlier he had married his wife after meeting her at his sister's wedding to the Danish football star Anders Lindegaard.

In a statement released through Scotland Yard after his death his family described their pain.
