Ten people were killed and three were injured in a fire that broke out at a carpentry workshop in the capital of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
“The Riyadh civil defence put out a fire that erupted at a carpentry workshop in the Badr neighbourhood, and [the blaze] resulted in the injury of three people and the death of 10 who were inside the workshop,” the Saudi civil defence said on Twitter.
It added that the victims’ identities were not yet confirmed. No further information was given on the cause of the fire.
The civil defence posted photos of what appeared to be an enormous lumber yard engulfed in flames, with firefighters working through the night to douse the blaze.
