Saudi Arabia’s air defences intercepted a drone launched towards a residential area in Khamis Mushait by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis on Tuesday, the spokesman for the Riyadh-led coalition said.

The Houthis’ Al Masirah TV said earlier that the group had attacked military sites and aircraft hangars at two nearby airports in south-western Saudi Arabia.

There were no details about casualties or damage.
