Saudi Arabia welcomed a UN report on Thursday which followed the US statement detailing Iran’s missile supplies for the Yemen's Houthis and called for “immediate measures” to implement Security Council resolutions and “hold the Iranian regime accountable."
In a statement released by the official Saudi Press Agency, Riyadh welcomed “the UN report that asserted that the hostile Iranian intervention and its support for the terrorist Houthi militia with advanced and dangerous missile capabilities threatens the security and stability of the kingdom and the region.”
The UN report was also welcomed by Bahrain, which called for holding Iran accountable for its "support of terrorism and blatant interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region".

Saudi Arabia also commended the US position in the statement as laid out by Washington’s ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and “her condemnation of Iranian aggressive activities in supporting and arming terrorist organisations such as Hizbollah and the terrorist Houthi militias".

Saudi Arabia lambasted the Houthis’ behaviour in Yemen, as “undermining the legitimate government, confiscating the aid, and stealing the country’s resources.”
It also called for stronger enforcement and monitoring measures in accordance with UN resolutions to block all the smuggling operations into Yemen. “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia demands the international community to take immediate measures to implement the Security Council resolutions and to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its hostile actions” it added.
On the political front, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain both reiterated their support for the efforts of UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to achieve a political solution to the Yemen conflict.
Saudi Arabia also expressed commitment to supporting all relief and humanitarian operations to help Yemen's people.
