The death toll from monsoon floods in Kerala reached 357 on Sunday, with hundreds of thousands made homeless and officials warning about outbreaks of disease.
Abu Dhabi's Universal Hospital became an unofficial disaster relief centre as the UAE general public and business community donated to those hardest hit.
More than 100 tons of provisions are expected to have been given to those in need when the first aid flight leaves on August 21.
