An Emirati driver was killed in a Fujairah crash after his car veered off a dirt road and flipped over several times.

The 23-year-old motorist, who has been identified as Mohammed Al Khuzaimi, lost control of his steering wheel while travelling on a road in Al Badiyah in the emirate on Monday, police said.

Colonel Saif Al Zahmi, director of Dibba Al Fujairah Police Department, said that the operation room received a report about the accident at 12pm on Monday.

“Traffic patrols and national ambulances vehicles were immediately dispatched to the site and the young man was directly transferred to Khor Fakkan hospital for treatment.

“Despite urgent medical intervention he died two hours later due to his severe injuries,” said Colonel Al Zahmi.

The young Emirati was buried at 7am in Al Badiyah cemetery on Tuesday morning.
