Enhancing the culture of volunteering is the aim of the latest workshop to be held by the Emirates Foundation.
Entitled "Our Volunteering Embodies Our Unity", the event next week will be run by Takatof, the foundation's volunteering programme.
It is an opportunity for individuals and organisations to develop relations and create more opportunities for young volunteers, said Maytha Al Habsi, chief programmes officer at the Emirates Foundation and director of Takatof.
The forum, to be held at the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort Hotel on June 19, will examine establishing effective voluntary projects and programmes; motivation and social responsibility; ethics of volunteering; and benefits of networking.
"Participants will get the chance to exchange expertise on the best practices of volunteer work, share mistakes and work together to build on successful ideas to improve voluntary work in the UAE," said Ms Al Habsi.
A workshop will allow beginners to explore voluntary work, learn from those who have experience in the field, and obtain the support needed to motivate them to continue.
Case studies of successful international volunteer projects will also be presented.
