DUBAI // Asthmatics have been warned to take care, as dust storms are expected across parts of the country on Friday and Saturday.

“Although the wind speed will be low, at 20kph, it can still kick up dust in some areas so people who suffer with asthma should take precautions and try to stay indoors, if possible,” said a forecaster at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.

A foggy morning after a night of high humidity and overcast conditions on Thursday set the tone for the weekend.

The fog in Dubai reduced visibility on the roads to about 150 metres.

Relative humidity will increase overnight to 95 per cent along the coast and 85 per cent inland.

There is also a chance of rain on Friday in Fujairah, Hatta and Al Ain, the weather bureau said.

“This is normal this time of year and we expect conditions to remain like this for the next few days,” said the forecaster.

Fog was also expected this morning, and temperatures inland will be in the high 40s, he said.

“Along the coast the daytime temperatures will be between 42°C and 45°C,” the weather bureau forecaster said.
