ABU DHABI // Dense fog blanketed most parts of the country early this morning, marking the third consecutive day of reduced visibility across most parts of the Emirates.
The visibility level on Abu Dhabi island dropped to less than 50 metres, while Al Ain and Dubai also registered thick fog. Visibility in the capital started to improve after 8.30am.
Dubai Police warned motorists to be cautious while driving due to fog in the internal parts of the emirate.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said the humidity level in internal and coastal parts of the country will hover between 80 and 99 per cent, with further high humidity tonight and tomorrow morning.
The centre said that after the fog clears, the day will be partly cloudy with light winds.
The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will remain moderate today, but will become rough on Tuesday, the centre said.
Motorists were asked to exercise caution as the fog is expected to continue to engulf the country on Monday and Tuesday.
The maximum temperature in the internal parts of the country will be between 30°C℃and 34°C℃and the minimum between 14°C℃and 19°C.
Coastal areas of the country will register a maximum temperature of between 26°C℃30°C℃and minimum of 15°C℃to 21°C.
The lowest temperature of 8.7°C℃was recorded in Hamim today at 7.15am.
