SHARJAH // Heavy traffic and multiple accidents were reported in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah as more than 1million pupils returned to school on Sunday
In Abu Dhabi, an accident on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road, caused congestion and tailbacks at 8am.
While in Dubai, several accidents were reported on Al Ain - Dubai Road, one close to Nad Al Sheba, and the other near Academic City causing delays, according to @TrafficDXB.
Another accident took place on on Hessa Street before Al Khail Road exit towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
In the Northern Emirates, motorists travelling on Al Ittihad, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and Emirates Road suffered from extensive delays.
An accident was also reported on E611 near the Maliha intersection, south-bound.
