The sermon says that carrying out duties with efficiency and perfection is one representation of the meaning of being responsible.

The imam referenced the story of how Zaid bin Thabit was asked by Abu Bakr to “search for the fragmentary scripts of the Quran and collect it [in one Book]”.

Knowing that the task was extremely difficult, he said “moving mountains” would be an easier task.

However, he obliged.

“So I started compiling the Quran by collecting it from the leafless stalks of the date palm tree and from the pieces of leather and hides, and from the stones, and from the chests of men [who had memorised the whole Quran].”

With perseverance and responsibility, Zaid bin Thabit carried out a task that would produce one of the most important books in the world, the sermon says.

In this regard, family is also a part of responsibility, and a part of it requires a heavy burden that must be carried out with happiness and pursuit of perfection.

Prophet Mohammed said: “A husband is a guardian of his family and is responsible for it, and a lady is a guardian of her husband’s house and is responsible for it.”

Deeds of responsibility were the foundation of the greatness of Sheikh Zayed, the Founding Father of the UAE, and the formation of the country.
