ABU DHABI // Among the most important events in the life of the Prophet Mohammed was his Hijra (migration) from Mecca to Medina, worshippers will be told at Friday’s sermon.
“The Hijra was glowing with enlightenment towards a new era to setting an everlasting humanitarian civilisation,” the sermon will say.
It was with great wisdom that the second Caliphate, Omar bin Al Khattab, decreed that the Islamic era should be counted from the Hijra, so the calendar begins on this date each year.
This was so Muslims can recall the wisdoms and lessons that were learnt from this event forever more.
“When the Quraysh (the tribe of the Prophet Mohammed) consented to murder the Prophet, Peace Be Opon Him, and recruited for the matter their knights and spent their money, Allah saved his Prophet from their conspiring with his will and power,” the sermon will say.
A verse from the Quran says: “That Allah will remit from them the worst of what they did, and will pay them for reward the best they used to do.”
When the non-believers discovered his hideout in Ghar Thawr, his companion Abu Baker said: “If any of them looked under his feet he would have seen us.”
Then the Prophet Mohammed said his famous quote: “What do you think O’ Abu Bakr about two people if Allah is the third.”
The sermon will says this means they were protected by Allah.
“They left (Maka) by his order and they relied on him, so Allah was by their side,” worshippers will hear.
A verse from the Quran says: “If ye go not forth He will afflict you with a painful doom, and will choose instead of you a folk other than you. Ye cannot harm Him at all. Allah is Able to do all things.”
“The wisdoms of the Prophet’s Hijra are many and countless ... they include good preparation, taking all measures to achieve the beneficial objectives,” the sermon will conclude.
