Two dead, 25 injured on Dubai roads during Eid Al Adha

DUBAI // Two people were killed and 25 were injured in vehicle crashes in Dubai during the Eid Al Adha holiday.

Col Jamal Al Bannai, acting director of the General Department of Traffic, said Dubai Police recorded 27 incidents from October 3 until October 6.

“Of the 27 road accidents, 10 involved people that were either killed or injured,” he said. “Two people were killed, one was seriously injured, 14 were moderately injured and 10 people sustained minor injuries.”

One of the crashes involved three lorries, one of which flipped over on Umm Suqeim Road, in Al Quoz, said Col Al Bannai.

“In this accident, three people were injured — one seriously wounded, one had moderate injuries and another sustained minor injuries,” he said.

In another incident, this time on Thursday morning at 10.45am, one person was seriously injured and two sustained moderate injuries when their vehicle fell into a valley in Hatta.

Col Al Bannai said the car swerved suddenly, hit a metal barrier and fell into the valley.

Last year during Eid Al Adha, two people were killed and 22 were injured.
