Sharjah experienced the most traffic on its roads as commuters witnessed long tailbacks in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
A number of roads were heavily trafficated inbound to Dubai on the emirate's roads, including Al Ittihad Road from the Industrial Area 7 to Dubai International Airport and the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road from Muwafjah all the way to the Mirdif City Centre in Dubai.
The Sharjah Ring Road bordering Dubai was congested from the Safeer Mall to Industrial Area 15 as well as the Third Industrial Street from the Industrial Area 10 heading to Dubai until the emirate's airport.
In Dubai, major traffic was felt on the Dubai-Al Ain Road into the city from International Academic City to Nad Al Sheba 2 and Sheikh Zayed Road towards downtown from the Dubai Garden Centre to Al Quoz 3.
Abu Dhabi witnessed traffic backlog on Salam Street into the capital from the Abu Dhabi Police Officer's Club to Al Reem Island and outbound from Delma Park to Rabdan Street due to a minor accident.
Congestion was also heavy on the Khaleej Al Arabi Street going into Abu Dhabi from Mussafah to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and on the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road from Sas Al Nakhel to Al Maqta Bridge.
