Motorists heading northbound from Sharjah met congestion on Mohammed bin Zayed Road from Sharjah Ring Road towards Muhaisanah.
Similar conditions were reported on Al Ittihad Road, Dubai-bound, on Sunday morning.
In Dubai, motorists travelling northbound on Sheikh Zayed Road from Al Manara towards Safa Park faced similar conditions due to a accident.
Heavy traffic was reported on Ras Al Khor Road heading towards Dubai.
Commuters heading to Dubai on the Dubai-Al Ain Road after Zayed University experienced heavy traffic.
Motorists travelling from Al Ain to the capital also faced traffic congestion.
