A heavy backlog of traffic was reported on a couple of Dubai-bound roads from Sharjah on Thursday morning.

Although traffic was fairly smooth on the UAE’s roads, an accident on the E11 - Dubai-Sharjah road - created bumper-to-bumper traffic around the Hor Al Anz East area leading up to Al Taawun area around Safeer Mall.

More traffic was reported on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road Dubai-bound from Sharjah’s Muwailih Commercial area to Dubai International Airport.

Another accident occurred on Sheikh Zayed Road around Umm Al Sheif Road, which led to slow-moving traffic Abu Dhabi-bound all the way up to Safa Park. The Marabea exit on the other side of the highway was also congested in the early hours of the morning.

Some backlog was reported on the Ras Al Khor Road at the intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

Less traffic was reported in the capital, although there was some congestion on the Mubarak bin Mohammed Street around the Al Zaab area Corniche-bound and Hazza bin Zayed Street close to Al Wahda Mall.
