Diesel prices will increase by 4.5 per cent from Monday, while petrol prices will remain almost the same in October compared with September.
Here’s a breakdown:
- Super 98: Dh2.61 a litre (up from Dh2.59 in September)
- Special 95: Dh2.50 a litre (up from Dh2.48)
- Diesel: Dh2.76 a litre (up from Dh2.64)
The price of diesel is higher this year after being set at Dh2.33 a litre in January, after VAT was included.
Petrol prices also increased marginally in September. Since the start of the year they have been steadily rising, despite a blip in July. Special 95 was Dh2.12 a litre in January.
Fuel prices were liberalised about two years ago, so they now move with the market.
