ABU DHABI // Some residents of the capital have complained of narrow parking spaces that do not leave sufficient distance between cars, leading to scratches and other damage to cars and leaving people to claim they have no choice but to take up two parking bays at a time.
Some would rather pay the Dh300 fine than have to pay for a damaged car, the Department of Transport said.
However, the department confirmed to The National's Arabic sister paper, Al Ittihad, that the space provided in individual parking bays is sufficient, as they are 5.5 metres long and 2.7 metres wide.
