AL AIN // The Department of Transport began issuing fines for parking violations in downtown Al Ain on Sunday.
Inspectors will now issue penalties to drivers who park their vehicles in unauthorised areas with kerbstones painted in green and black.
While parking continues to be free across the city, the department has handed out pamphlets warning against parking in illegal areas.
Mawaqif issues tickets for random parking, parking at spots designated for special needs and near fire lanes and other unauthorised areas.
