A three-car smash on the main bridge into Abu Dhabi contributed to standstill traffic on Tuesday morning as thousands of commuters headed into the city.
Two saloons and a large 4x4 collided in the middle of the carriageway on Sheikh Zayed Bridge at around 7.45am.
Drivers were seen jumping out of their vehicles to get clear of the wreckage. There did not appear to be any serious injuries.
Stop-start traffic ran for kilometres on Salam Street and into the city.
Police regularly urge drivers to keep their distance from the vehicle in front to prevent avoidable crashes.
