Brig Ghanem Ghanem announced that the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in Ras Al Khaimah is carrying on its campaign against unlicensed motorcycles. A total of 409 unlicensed motorcycles have been seized since the launch of the campaign in early February. The motorcycles are noisy and disturb people in residential areas as well as road users, in addition to putting the lives of the riders and others at risk, the police said.
Brig Ghanem called on parents to monitor their children’s behaviour and prevent them from owning and driving unlicensed motorcycles. He added that the inspection campaign is ongoing throughout the emirate to arrest reckless riders, and urged the public to comply with traffic rules and regulations and to cooperate in developing a comprehensive system towards reaching a safe and stable community and minimizing traffic accidents.
