There are no changes in speed limits for roads in the capital at this time, Abu Dhabi Police said on Tuesday.
The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols said any future adjustments would be announced ahead of time by the authorities.
The clarification comes almost three months after Dubai Police reduced the speed limit on two main roads - Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (311) and Emirates Road (611) - from 140kph to 110kph.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, which runs through the two emirates, is set at 120kph in Abu Dhabi but drops by 10kph after crossing the border to Dubai, though a 20kph buffer is still in operation.
The Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police took the decision to cut down on traffic accidents and improve the safety of road users.
