Emirati, 20, killed in Sharjah road crash

SHARJAH // A 20-year-old Emirati man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Sharjah’s central region on Thursday evening.

Sharjah Police said the man, AMA, died when a motorist in the second vehicle suddenly changed lanes, colliding with AMA’s car.

The collision caused AMA’s vehicle to crash into the railing, then roll over several times.

Col Haran Mubarak, acting director of the central region police, said Al Dhaid Police Station received a report of the incident on Mleiha–Al Dhaid Road at 8.15pm, and that AMA was stuck in his vehicle following the crash.

Rescue and police teams found AMA dead at the scene. His body was transferred to Al Dhaid Hospital, and given to the family for burial.

Col Mubarak urged motorists to abide by traffic laws.
