Dubai Police has added yet another supercar to its fleet of luxury patrol vehicles.

The sleek Maserati GranTurismo has a 4.7-litre, V8 engine and can reach speeds of up to 300kmph.

The addition brings the number of Dubai Police supercars to 15, including a McLaren MP4-12C, a Bugatti Veyron and an Aston Martin One-77 - one of only 77 ever made.

“[The] Maserati GranTurismo joins our fleet of patrols,” Dubai Police announced on Twitter on Wednesday.

The city introduced its first ultra-fast patrol car, the Lamborghini Aventador, back in 2013, and has since gone on to add to its collection.

A Ferrari FF, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and a Bentley Continental GT are also form part of their squad.

Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, said their latest vehicle formed part of plans to increase police presence in areas such as Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and Jumeirah Beach Residence.

The force’s $2million Bugatti Veyron was awarded a Guinness World Record for the fastest police car in the world in 2017, having displaced a Lamborghini Gallardo in operation in Italy.

With a top speed of 400kmph, the Bugatti is capable of driving from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 20 minutes.
