DUBAI // Warnings will be issued by the transport authority to caution motorists against driving while exhausted or drowsy.

Fasting during Ramadan triggers a drop in concentration when driving home, according to the Roads and Transport Authority, which will run a campaign advising fatigued motorists to rest and park their vehicle.

“Variation between sleep and work times during Ramadan impacts the concentration of fasting individuals,” said Maitha bin Udai, chief executive of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency. “It is particularly important for motorists to exercise extra caution while driving from office to home to avoid traffic accidents.”
