Dubai flight disrupted by passenger who tried to enter cockpit

The incident took place on flight EK157 from Dubai to Stockholm on February 2, 2014, the airline has confirmed.

Swedish police detained an Emirates Airline passenger on Sunday after he tried to enter the cockpit during a flight from Dubai to Stockholm.

“Emirates can confirm that on 2 Feb 2014 an incident occurred during flight EK157 from Dubai to Stockholm, where a male passenger started shouting and left his seat. He ignored the crew’s instruction to remain seated, and made his way towards the cockpit,” said a spokeswoman.

The passenger was restrained by cabin crew and remained calm for the rest of the flight, she said.

“Upon arrival in Stockholm, the passenger was met by police. The safety of our passengers and crew is of critical importance and will not be compromised. As the matter is now under police investigation, Emirates cannot comment further on the incident.”
