The Ministry of Interior organised an awareness lecture to familiarise cab drivers with the Federal Traffic Point Reduction Programme at the Emirates Cab headquarters in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi.
Lt Col Saif Al Khaili, head of the police follow-up department at the ministry, said the lecture series aims to raise drivers’ awareness and give them a chance to avoid having their driving licences withdrawn.
Lt Col Al Khaili noted that permanent driving licenses are confiscated for three months the first time the 24 black point limit is reached, for six months in the second time, and for one year for the third – returned only after drivers pass a traffic safety course.
