ABU DHABI // All school buses will have their windows tinted to 30 per cent, authorities have announced.
Emirates Transport, which operates the buses, said previously only larger school buses had their windows tinted, while curtains were hung in smaller ones.
Tariq Al Obaidli, manager of school transport operations, told Al Ittihad, Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National, that the rules will apply to 4,503 buses.
Besides improving the efficiency of air-conditioning and minimising the intensity of sun rays inside the bus, window tinting adds a measure of privacy to the vehicles, said Mr Al Obaidli.
