ABU DHABI // Wresting fans in the capital will have the chance to see some of the sport's biggest names slam it out in the ring next week.
Total Nonstop Action's (TNA) top wrestlers will be pinning each other to the canvas in three Combat Club shows at the Abu Dhabi Golf and Equestrian Club on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The promoter, Al Rayan, said the 3,000-capacity shows, each including some 10 fights, were nearly sold out.
"It is the first time we have had this level of wrestling in the region," said Baha Halabi, from Al Rayan.
TNA will bring 30 wrestlers to the capital, but Hulk Hogan, a star of wrestling since the 1980s now signed to TNA, will not be among them.
However, fans will be able to watch the TNA world heavyweight champion, Jeff Hardy. Also fighting will be Jeff Jarrett, a founder of the TNA, and the TNA TV champion, The Phenomenal AJ Styles.
They will be joined by Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe, The Monster Abyss, Mr Anderson, The Beautiful People, Beer Money, Jay Lethal, Brian Kendrick, Douglas Williams and the "Prince of Punk" Shannon Moore.
Tickets can be bought from Khalidiyah Mall and Abu Dhabi Mall, and at the venue, with prices starting from Dh300.
