DUBAI // A three-year-old Emirati boy recovering from a kidney disease won a car and Dh150,000 in cash at the Dubai Shopping Festival raffle.

After months of treatment in hospitals in the UAE and India to overcome his medical condition, winning the festival raffle is a bright spot for Talal and his father Abdul Rahman Al Hammar.

Mr Al Hammar had bought DSF raffle tickets in his own name for many years but this year he filled in his son’s name.

His luck turned on December 28, on the second day of DSF, with Talal’s ticket picked as the winner of the daily Infiniti mega raffle draw.

“It was an incredible feeling when I got to know that my son had won the DSF mega raffle,” he said.

“Thanks to God my son has recovered from his illness and now I consider this prize also as a gift from God for Talal, my wife and our two daughters.

“After all these difficult times, DSF has helped bring great joy into our lives. I will save the prize money for Talal’s future.”

The young boy won his family an Infiniti QX70 and Dh150,000.

Tickets for the daily raffle are Dh200 and can be bought from Eppco and Enoc petrol stations including Al Ghurair centre, Global Village, Al Fahidi street, Al Rigga street, Al Seef street, Baniyas Road and the Gold Souk.

The draw takes place every day at 10pm with a live broadcast on SAMA Dubai TV.
