DUBAI // Three people escaped unharmed from a huge fire that erupted at an industrial area warehouse.
The blaze erupted at about 10.15pm on Tuesday night and was put out just after midnight, Dubai Civil Defence said.
No fatalities or injuries were recorded but firefighters were still trying to cool the warehouse down on Wednesday morning.
The smell of burnt material subsequently dampened by a fire hose is rife in the vicinity of the warehouse, which stored clothes, car parts and building materials. A sign outside said the warehouse owner was ECC Tools and Build Solutions, Chibuild Trading LLC.
A witness said three people were in the warehouse when the fire started.
Another man, who works at a car repair shop, said he saw the fire at night and heard a lot of commotion, adding that the blaze did not spread to other warehouses.
Civil Defence said four units rushed to the scene from Al Rashidiya, Al Qusais, Al Quoz and Karama stations.
