Syrian refugee children in an Emirati-funded camp in Jordan have received packages containing gifts and toys in celebration of Eid Al Adha.

As part of the UAE Board on Books for Young People and Knowledge Without Borders’ Gift from the Heart campaigns, the children received toys including dolls, cars and books.

The toys were bought by UAE residents from Hamley’s Toys shops in Dubai Mall and Mirdif City Centre in August as part of the Read to Syria’s Children initiative.

The programme was launched by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, daughter of the Ruler of Sharjah and patron of the UAE Board on Books for Young People.

The toys were distributed by a delegation from the two charities.

During their visit, the delegation also inspected the Big Heart Library, which is a 3,000-volume collection that was established this year.
