The son of a key figure to Russian president Vladimir Putin has died while on holiday in the UAE, his employer has confirmed.
Alexander Ivanov, the son of Sergei Ivanov, Mr Putin's presidential chief of staff, drowned last week at an unnamed location while holidaying in the Emirates, The Moscow Times reported.
Vnesheconombank, the bank where Ivanov, 37, was deputy chairman, said on its website that they had "suffered a great loss" and "lost a real friend and companion", according to the Times report.
The National was unable to verify in which emirate Ivanov drowned.
